Update: Vodafone has officially announced the details of 3G tariff plans after the expiry of free trial offered to the users. You can check the details of various plans from here. Activation codes are different for various plans. It is also there in the link provided. If your handset does not support advanced HSPA, your 3G speed will be similar to 2G. So we strongly recommend you to buy a handset which support advanced High Speed Packet Access, before the 3G activation.
How to activate Vodafone 3G ?
- Send an SMS to 111 with the activation code as text(Choose your desired plan from the link above, activation codes are also with the details).
- You will get a confirmation SMS on your Vodafone number when they received the activation message. 3G services will be activated in less than 48 hours.
- Once you have activated 3G services on your Vodafone sim, you can enjoy the following services.

Vodafone 3G Prepaid Plans
According to the leaked data, Monthly rentals for prepaid plans starts from Rs.100 (100 MB limit and 30 days of validity). Mobile Internet plans ends in a monthly rental of Rs.1000 (1000 MB limit + 1000(Local + STD) + 1000 SMS and 30 days of validity). There are six mobile broadband plans available for prepaid users. It starts with a monthly rental of Rs. 650 and ends in Rs. 6250. You can check the image below for further details.
Vodafone 3G Postpaid Plans
Postpaid plans for Vodafone 3G services are almost same like the prepaid plans explained above. Check the below image for further details.

I don’t understand the difference between The Mobile Internet and Broadband speed.
I guess it might be
Mobile Internet :- Less Then 256KBPS
Mobile Broadband: More Than 256kbps
What is Use OF 3G the speed is less than 256kbps ?????
and if this is real difference between them, how can we Video Call in less than 256kbps In Mobile internet plans????

We cannot compare like that, Broadband allows you to access high speed internet and its the network providers giving us the speed limit and if they are providing a better speed we can access with what ever it is. But there is some specifications in Telecommunication n/w providers cannot go beyond their limits. There you can get the benefits of 3G. 3rd generation will full fill most of the telecommunication standards and it will cause a huge increase in the internet speed also.

If you don’t see vodafone 3g signal don’t worryed once more time searching after searching if you get idea 3g signal , you will select idea 3g as your net work . Them switch off and turn on your mobile and enjoy vodafone 3g.

For switching network SMS PORT < your mobile number> to 1900 from your mobile number. You will soon receive an eight digit Unique Porting Code (UPC) from your current network. After receiving it buy a SIM of your desired network and fill up the application with the UPC. Transfer time depends on the network you choose. And you cannot change your network if you did not complete a min period of 90 days with your current SIM. For further details go here
‘ACT 3G’ to 111 for getting 3G activated, but you need to contact to the Vodafone customer care services for making sure that vodafone 3g is activated in your city.

Its fastest mode of wireless internet available. With 3G you can access net @ 21.1 Mbps an downloading speeds upto 8Mbps. Ofcourse it depends on the provider, which as of now sucks.

dear all, 3G is good.. Charges are high.. but before everything else, please check the download speed ur handsets support. there is no point having a handset which supports 3G (but only have, say 384 kbps download speed like nokia e63) and choosing a 3 Mbps 3G plan..

Before sending SMS you must check whether your handset supported 3G services. And if it is, Send SMS according to the plans listed here. There was a vodafone 3G trial on earlier days, SMS ‘ACT 3G’ is for activating that trial, it is already expired now. Do according to the link provided. ACT 3G is for activating Vodafone trial 3G plan which is already expired. Now you must select your tarrifs according to the plans listed here. Activation SMS code is also provided there.

I think you are using 5233 which looks similar to 5230. It’s the 2G version of 5230 with a lesser price.

I think you dint read the update at the bottom. act 3g is just for activating the free trial which is already expired. You need to choose a 3G tariff plan, details are given here. Message with that activation codes.
